Overview of Aluminum Nitride AlN Products

Aluminum nitride is a refractory composite ceramic material with a hexagonal wurtzite structure. Pure aluminum nitride is blue-white, and aluminum nitride ceramics are usually gray or white.

 Aluminum nitride is stable at high temperature in an inert atmosphere and melts at 2800°C. It has high thermal conductivity and good electrical insulation, as well as low dielectric constant and dielectric loss. This combination of properties makes it a key advanced material for many applications in optics, lighting, electronics and renewable energy.

 Commonly used aluminum nitride preparation methods include direct nitridation, carbothermal reduction, high-energy ball milling, high-temperature self-propagating synthesis, chemical vapor deposition, etc.

Application of Aluminum Nitride AlN Products

Aluminum nitride aln is a solid nitride of aluminum. It has a high thermal conductivity of up to 321 W/(mK) and is an electrical insulator.

Aluminum nitride is widely used because of its thermal conductivity and often replaces beryllium oxide due to the inherent health risks associated with the use of BeO. More importantly, from a functional standpoint, the CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) of aluminum nitride is significantly lower than that of aluminum oxide or beryllium oxide, making it the best match for CTE-equivalent silicon-based applications. Additionally, aluminum nitride does not react with most process chemicals and gases, making it more suitable for use in the semiconductor industry.
